Very cheap product. No wooden dowels or nails. It is assembled with hollow cardboard tubes and 3M sticky tape. It kept falling apart every time it was moved.

I have to admit that I was wary of getting a non-wood bookshelf for fear of how it would hold up. Since my only other option for a small shelf was Ikea, I decided to give this shelf a shot. So far no regrets. It looks great and is filled with books. Plus I even have a small tv on top of it and seems to be holding up just fine. I would buy this brand again assuming it looks this good in a few years. Oh, super easy assembly too.
